Get Your Head in the Game
Webinar: Avoiding Pitfalls of Global Elearning

Increasing adoption, engagement and learning retention through games

What do you really know about games? Some of the statistics may surprise you. For example, the average gamer is 37 years old and has been playing for 12 years. Eighty-two percent of gamers are 18 years of age or older. Twenty-nine percent of game players are over the age of 50. Fifty-five percent of gamers play games on their phones or handheld device. Everyone is talking about gaming these days, but how do you know you’re implementing it most effectively into your learning strategy?

Game based learning (GBL) uses competitive exercises, either pitting the students against each other or getting them to challenge themselves in order to motivate them to learn better. By augmenting your existing programs with gaming, learners practice relevant scenarios, learn from mistakes and apply real-world concepts in a fun and engaging format. In this current work landscape of short attention spans and technology constantly attached to our our fingertips, companies need to learn to tap into this prevalent resource when developing their training programs to reflect the needs and expectations of new generations. Gaming can help augment your learning by engaging multiple intelligences, immersive storytelling and providing active learning for performance support.

In this webinar you will learn:
  • Benefits of augmenting existing learning programs with games, with examples of increased learner adoption and retention
  • The art of making a good instructional game – story adventures, continuous challenges, rewards and competitive winning
  • Using games to engage a multigenerational workforce. What works and what doesn’t
  • 5 Traps to avoid with gaming– from design, technology to delivery
